About Roy
Roy Tomizawa advises WorkOptional.ai on integrating AI with human-centric organizational design. As Chief Executive of Sasin Executive Education and an ASEAN Innovation Fellow with Malaysia's National AI Office, he shapes how organizations adapt to AI. He emphasizes "agency" – the belief in one's ability to act combined with follow-through – as critical for navigating AI disruptions, viewing AI as an enabler for human creativity and decision-making.
Roy developed an "Exponential Change Framework for AI Adoption" based on the "30 Steps Principle" and Four Pillars of AI Readiness: fluid organizational identity, decentralized decision-making, ethics-as-code, and managing learning debt. His research includes Emotional Intelligence in Machine Learning and the "Authenticity Economy," providing insights for WO Labs research, WO Academy curriculum, and WO Capital investments.
He co-developed WorkOptional's Agency Quotient (AQ) assessment tool to measure workforce readiness for AI integration. Recent activities include launching the Reinventing blog's AI Ethics Pulse Checker and keynoting NVIDIA's "Post-Whale" AI Strategy Summit, demonstrating his engagement in AI ethics and strategy discourse.
